"I Don't Want To Go" Gameplay

In the "I Don't Want To Go" Gameplay, your Time Lord and companion/s will not age, but your townies and random sims will, depending on your settings. This mode is designed for a relaxed experience and immersed roleplaying.

CREATE-A-TIME-LORD
Create a new game, then design your Time Lord. They can be any gender, color, voice and walk. However, they cannot be a special type of sim (ghost, alien, vampire, etc.).

Choose any traits and aspirations, EXCEPT for Fabulously Wealthy and Beach Life (Island Living). If you want to follow the "Path of The Doctor", pick Mean, Outgoing, Snob and Freelance Botanist.

Likes and Dislikes must remain empty. More on this later.

Their age must be set to Adult. You cannot choose any other age. If you want to roleplay as an Elder, change their hair to gray and add wrinkles in “Skin Details”.

To name your Time Lord, think of a profession, a title, an object or anything. Whatever you choose will be their Last Name. For example, if you chose engineer, then their last name is “Engineer”. If you are having a hard time thinking of a Last Name, go to http://timelord.namegeneratorfun.com

Now that you have your Time Lord’s Last Name, set the first name as “First”. With the example above, your Time Lord’s name should be “First Engineer".

Click the Game Settings, and modify the settings as follows:
  • Auto Age (Played Sims): No
  • Auto Age (Unplayed Sims): Checked
  • Sim Lifespan: Any, adjustable (Short, Normal, Long)
  • Build Mode Items Grant Gameplay Effects: Checked
Once done, save your First Time Lord in your Gallery and click Play.

THE TIME LORD’S SPACE
You must move your Time Lord in a 50 x 50 lot or larger. If the lot is occupied, you must evict the occupying household, bulldoze it and move your Time Lord in. This will be your Time Lord’s permanent lot, which means they cannot move out from it.

You can build a house, a TARDIS or both. For a guide on creating a TARDIS, click here for the roleplay section.

Lot Traits for your TARDIS must remain empty.

Money cheats are allowed such as kaching, rosebud, and motherlode. You may opt not to use any money cheats.

TEMPERAMENTAL TARDIS
The TARDIS has a mind of its own. Sometimes they're cooperating. Sometimes they're erratic. But that's part of the adventure with your TARDIS.

After paying your weekly bills, you must roll a six-sided dice. You can use a physical dice or online: https://www.google.com/search?q=dice+roller

After a roll, you can only use low-level furniture based on the outcome of your dice roll.

1: Low-level Beds (Mod Pod Sleeper, Mod Pod Twin Sleeper, Mod Pod Top Bunk, Mod Pod Bunk Bed)
2: Low-level Showers & Toilets (
Post Modern Shower Stall, The Ambassador)
3: Low-
level Radio (Residential Wall Speaker; Kaboom Box)
4: Low-level Fridge & Stove (Crisponix Budget Dee-lux; The YumCooker)
5: Low-level Computer & Computer Chair (How Low Can You Go Deskblock Computer, Kindermade Chair)
6: No
Low-level Replacement. Or re-roll again if you want to.

When replacing a High-level furniture with a Low-level furniture, you must store the High-level furniture in the Household Inventory to preserve upgrades done to it.

When replacing Low-level furniture with High-level furniture, you must sell the Low-level furniture. Low-level furniture can be upgraded, if you wish.

LIKES AND DISLIKES
When the game asks if a certain music genre or activity will be liked or disliked by your Time Lord, you must always accept. If you decline by mistake, you must manually like or dislike that music or activity in "Enter Create a Sim" under the Simology panel.

You cannot pick what your Time Lord likes or dislikes. Let them decide.

ASPIRATION & REWARD STORE RESTRICTIONS
During the course of the challenge, you will gain a lot of aspiration points. You must aim for 5,000 aspiration points per incarnation, which you will use to buy Re-Traiting Potions.  Re-Traiting Potions are strictly limited to the regeneration phase. You cannot buy these except in the regeneration phase.

All other potions are purchasable at any time, and encouraged

Reward traits that are greater than 1,000 Aspiration Points are forbidden. You can only buy reward traits that are 1,000 Aspiration Points or less.

The following aspirations cannot be chosen and completed: Fabulously Wealthy and Beach Life (Island Living).

CHRONO TRIGGER
Since your Time Lord will not age, regeneration will be determined by certain criteria or triggers. This will be entirely up to you on what triggers a regeneration.

Here are some suggestions (but not limited to):
  • Completing an Aspiration
  • Maxing out a Skill
  • Completing a Collection
  • Reaching the highest level in a Career
  • Exploring fully an Expansion Pack's or Game Pack's feature
  • A certain date or day in the calendar, either in-game or real-life
  • Completing a player made Challenge (click here for a list of challenges)
    • Some revising or tweaking on the rules can be made on a chosen challenge
    • Do not choose a challenge that will kill or age your Time Lord
You can fulfill a single criteria or multiple criteria. For example, you can trigger regeneration by finishing an Aspiration. Or you can trigger it by completing two Skill and an Aspiration. Another way is by regenerating based on the goal in "Path of the Doctor" (details to follow in Regeneration section).

To keep track of accomplishments, have your Time Lord take selfies, and then rename the selfies with what they have accomplished (name of the completed aspiration, the collection completed, the job they maxed, etc.) These should be shown as mementos for your Time Lord's incarnations.

The choice is yours.

REGENERATION
In the Doctor Who universe, a Time Lord regenerates when they are mortally wounded or in the brink of death. (click here to learn more)

Since your Time Lord does not age, your regeneration is determined by your own criteria.

Once done, follow these steps for the regeneration phase:
  1. Buy and Drink the Re-Traiting Potion from the Rewards Store.
  2. Pick two new traits NOT used by past Time Lords. The third trait can be a previously used trait or any trait.
  3. To keep track of what traits you had picked, click here for the tracking sheet: https://sims4timelordchallenge.blogspot.com/p/tracking-sheets.html
  4. If you are following the "Path of The Doctor", click here for the tracking sheet: https://sims4timelordchallenge.blogspot.com/p/path-of-doctor-tracking-sheet.html
  5. After picking new traits, open the cheat console. To do this, press and hold CTRL-SHIFT-C.
  6. Type in cas.fulleditmode
  7. Go to the Simology Panel (Hotkey - Y) and click "Enter Create a Sim" under "Likes and Dislikes"
  8. WARNING! If you had enabled cas.fulleditmode and you changed your Time Lord’s age in CAS, all reward traits and purchased traits will be deleted. If you accidentally switched their age in CAS, cancel the edit and return to Step 7.
  9. In Create-A-Sim, randomize the look of your Time Lord. You can tweak their appearance, voice, gender and walk. They should not look like previous Time Lords.
  10. Likes and dislikes must be reset. If there are any music genre or activity that are liked or dislikes, you must uncheck them. You can keep at least (1) Like or Dislike.
  11. Change their first name to the next number. For example, if you are changing the “First”, then you must change their name to “Second”.
  12. Save the Time Lord in your Gallery. This is your backup in case of an unfortunate death. If you want to share, add the hashtag #timelordchallenge.
  13. Press Done

REGENERATION AFTERMATH
After a Time Lord regenerates, they may experience memory loss, confusion and/or erratic behavior (Click for an example). Also, their TARDIS can undergo a catastrophic malfunction (Click for an example).

For two days, your Time Lord will undergo these regeneration aftermath. On your tracking sheet, make note of the time when your Time Lord regenerated. This will be your guide on when the aftermath ends.

During the aftermath, your Time Lord cannot use Friendly Interactions. They can only use Funny, Mischief, Mean and Romantic Interactions. If you have AUTONOMY ON, Friendly Interaction they do themselves is allowed. However, you cannot cancel any interactions they autonomously choose.

Next,
you must add the "Off The Grid" Challenge Trait on your TARDIS.

After two days have passed, you can now resume normal gameplay. You can now use Friendly Interactions, and you can remove the "Off The Grid" Challenge Trait. While in Build/Buy Mode, save your lot in your Gallery. That way you have a back-up of your TARDIS.

If your Time Lord accidentally dies during the regeneration aftermath, you can reload a previous save of the same Time Lord, or you can retrieve them from your Gallery. This type of death does not trigger a regeneration phase.

DEATH
If your Time Lord accidentally dies during the challenge, you must retrieve them from your Gallery. All progress that were attained between saving your Time Lord in the Gallery and their unfortunate death will be lost. This loss of progress will be the penalty.

To retrieve your Time Lord from your Gallery, follow these steps:
  • Go To Manage World
  • Click your Time Lord’s lot
  • On the options at the bottom-right, click “More”, “Manage Household” and “Edit, Add or Remove Sim…”
  • In Create-A-Sim, open The Gallery and click “My Library” tab
  • Click the recently deceased Time Lord
  • Click “Place Household”
  • If placing your Time Lord adds any other sims, delete those sims.
  • Click “Play”
After retrieving your Time Lord, you must begin the regeneration phase immediately.
